Two or three times a year, we embark on a two-day off-site break and hackathon, a time when our team is given carte blanche to bring their creative coding ideas to life. The video encapsulates the fruits of one such hackathon. Making the most of the real-time collaborative build & code architecture of Vatom Spaces (drag and drop world building, realtime collaborative coding of plugins), the team conceived a game that doubles as a team-building exercise in our virtual workspace.
This example showcases a first-person shooter game. The team assembled the 3D models (some ahead of the hackathon), developed plugins to manage ammo and health, implemented a leaderboard, and created other plugins to administer actions within a Vatom space.
Here you can short video of the game in action.
